Meet Kiwi, a 4 year old Solomon Island Eclectus parrot. Kiwi is a male bird. He is lots of fun to watch and talk with. He is extremely social and loves to be in the heart of the home. Hands are not a friend of Kiwi’s but he will step up onto a rope perch to be moved from place to place. Kiwi is not aggressive but, like many birds, will bite out of fear at times. When you earn his trust he will let you give him some scratches. Kiwi needs an owner with patience and knowledge about parrots. Eclectus parrots do not have the same diet as other parrots and require a lot more fresh foods in their diet to keep them healthy. His new owner should have Eclectus experience or be committed to learning and making sure he has the best care possible.
